2 days/2 people project

Why not change one room this weekend, make it a nice two day project, you may even involve a friend or someone you want to spend time with or get to know better.  We could call it 2 days/2 people deco project!   Pull out some magazines, go through the net, ask your partner to give you some ideas or just close your eyes and envision the end result.  We don't trust ourselves enough, just go with it!  Follow these simple rules and you'll be fine.

1- Find a focus or a focal point :  Every room should have one, if yours doesn't have one create one through and art object or a specific style.

2- Always consider lighting :  Lighting is very important when decorating, it could be the difference between hit or miss.

3- Consider the entire house : Not everything has to match but try to find and element to tie everything together, think about the flow it all.

4- Carry samples with you :  When doing your shopping be sure to carry samples with you so you can compare and match items together.  This will save you time and might help you make your decisions faster.

5- Have a budget : It really doesn't have to cost you an arm an a leg.  However, if you have it go crazy but consider this, you can have a great result on any budget, it just depends how resourceful you can be.

Have fun with, let me know how it went and I would love to see some pics.

Linen fascination

Is it just me, or does everyone absolutely love a perfectly well put together linen closet with every towels, sheets, beddings and linens perfectly folded?  I just find great pride in opening my linen closet and being doused by a nice fresh fragrance, and also finding things perfectly lined makes me really happy as well. Having beautiful rich fabrics should be a must in my book, decor isn't always to everyones taste, it all depends on personal taste, but I think everyone can always appreciate and recognized quality of products, quality of materials, finishes and of course all fabrics.  That is the sure measure of good taste.

Under construction... better yet, work in progress!

Today I learned the principle of the compound effect.  Which is the principle of reaping huge benefits from a series of small, smart choices.  I that, and anybody can do it, isn’t that great?  So basically, I will start to make small changes in my life the way I have always done.  The only difference is for me, that I will keep at it, not lose my focus and be disciplined because I now understand that those small, smart choices will make a difference in my life in the long term.  Furthermore, I will reject the excuses that have been breaking my legs such as, I am not smart enough, I come from the wrong upbringing, I don’t have the education, I’m too fat etc and I will decide to make up for it in hard work and personal development to outcompete anyone including my old self.
